    Wow! The sinkhole is HUGE!!!! Was the sinkhole area fully covered with trees before all this happened? Kaye

        If you think the sink hole is big now, just wait. It is natural for a steep wall vertical cylinder to try and taper the wall down to an angle thus sluffing off the edges until such time the vertical walls will have more of a taper to them creating something of a dish pan shape. That is just Mother Nature at work and it will continue until this point is reached making the sink how just a bit bigger in size. Hopefully the taper will not reach any waterway and contaminate it with the salty now contained in the sink hole. Talk about a fish kill. Most freshwater fish cannot live in salty water, some maybe briefly, but only briefly. Sure hope this does not happen, but you can bet you will read about more sluffing off of the edges of the sink hole. Most vertical walls have a tendency to want to fall over and this senario is no different. Jim Looney
